Welcome to the under 7's page. This age group is for children in the school year 2 age group starting on 1st September, i.e. children aged 6 at the 1st of September 2011.

When do the squad train
The squad are currently on a close season break but will start pre season training in August. Please check the web site training sessions for details of when training starts. View sessions

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Sunday Mornings 10:00 - Noon.

How do I join
We have a squad of 14 players but need more players to cover for injuries and players unavailable. We are aiming for a squad of 22 plus players so if you are interested in playing mini tag rugby come down to Copley on any training session or match day

2011 - 12 Season - The Under 7's

The new season starts on 28th August with player registration and a fun day to gently ease players into tag rugby. Some of the players will already have had previous experience of tag rugby from last season. These will be last seasons micros who reached their 6th birthday during last season and are allowed to play competitive tag rugby.

We should have around 12 players moving up from the micros but we are looking to this years intake to boost the squad numbers to be able to run 2 teams. The squad will increase in numbers as the season progresses with the 6 year old Micros coming up to join in the group for the season. The squad will be split into 2 groups, the experienced players and the new player development squad. This allows the new players to join the squad and learn the basic skills at their own pace and when up to speed can transfer to the experienced player squad.

Any new players under 7 who would like to play mini rugby are very welcome to come down to Copley on Sunday mornings during the season when they are training or have home games. Please look at the fixtures list to check the minis are at home. With 2 teams everyone gets a game

Anyone interested in sponsoring the Minis please contact any of the coaches or people below. The amount can be as little as £5 upwards. The money goes into a pot to buy equipment such as balls, tag belts, tackle shields, training shirts, coaching tops, marker cones and poles. The list is endless there is always new equipment to buy or replace worn out equipment.
