Welcome to the under 14's page. This age group is for boys in the school year 9 age group starting on 1st September, i.e. boys aged 13 at the 1st of September 2011.

When do the squad train
The squad mid week training is on Wednesday evenings at Copley 6:00pm - 7:00pm.

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Sunday Mornings 10:00 - Noon.

How do I join
If you are interested in playing junior rugby come down to Copley on any training session or match day. Any new players experienced or new to the game are welcome to join in.

Next Fixture Sunday 4th December
Away to Bradford and Bingley KO 11am

The under 14s are away to Bradford and Bingley (The Bees). The home game was postponed due to bad weather last season and the away game was a bit of a disaster. It was a winable game but people got lost so pre match preparation was not good and the game was lost before we got on the field. This time if we are well prepared we could sneak a win.

Meet at Bradford & Bingley clubhouse 10:00am ready for a pre match warm up to start at 10:30am.

Strength and Conditioning

As part of the squad, you will be expected to keep fit in your own time and have your own conditioning programme. Try the RFU year 9 programme to help you build your strength and condition.

2011 - 12 Season - Under 14's
The squad start their second season of junior rugby in September. There are no changes to the continuum this season, its a season of consolidating on last season. This season the squad will enter the Yorksire Cup for the first time with the 1st round games to be played on October 2nd.

Since the start of the season the squad has grown steadily with some new players joining last season. James Clarke and Ben Robinson who play for the 1st XV now help Mick Bruce with the coaching. Since the coaches introduced midweek training sessions performances are starting to improve. We have a few players new to the game and are learning quickly but we do need some experienced players to help strengthen the squad. There were several Sundays when the coaches only had 15 players and were having to play some players out of position. Idealy they would like to have a few subs to be able changes things during a game.

Interested in Sponsoring the Juniors
Anyone interested in sponsoring the juniors please contact any of the coaches or people below. The amount can be as little as £5 upwards. The money goes into a pot to buy equipment such as balls, tag belts, tackle shields, training shirts, coaching tops, marker cones and poles. The list is endless there is always new equipment to buy or replace worn out equipment.
