Welcome to the under 11's page. This age group is for boys in the school year 6 age group starting on 1st September, i.e. children aged 10 at the 1st of September 2011.

When do the squad train
The squad have started pre season training on Sunday mornings 10am - 11am on Savile Park down towards the junction of Skircoat Moor Road and Savile Park Road (almost opposite the fish and chip restauarant).

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Sunday Mornings 10:00 - Noon.

How do I join
We are aiming to run two teams this season so if you are interested in playing junior rugby come down to Copley on any training session or match day. Any new players experienced or new to the game are welcome to join in.
Everyone gets a game. Contact any of the coaches.

2011 - 12 Season - The Under 11's

This season the under 11's move from the 9 a side contact game to the 12 a side game adding a second row and a full back. The pitch size increases to playing on half a pitch, kicking from hand and converting tries is introduced and the duration of a game increases. Pre season training will concentrate on playing with 5 forwards and full set of backs.

The under 11's will compete in the district festival with the top three clubs gaining entry into the Yorkshire cup. The squad are progressing well and based on last years results have a good chance of qualifying for the Yorkshire Cup.

We have a very experienced team of 4 coaches with RFU Coaching qualifications. They will ensure all players of all abilities have a pleasurable rugby experience in a safe and controlled environment. There are will be a number of players returning again this year but it would be great to see a few new arrivals, both those who are encountering rugby for the first time or those who are looking to supplement some experience gained at school or other clubs. The emphasis is on enjoyment and team spirit through rugby. Winning is an enjoyable experience, but if you achieve pleasure from the game success often comes as a by-product.

Pre- season training has not been announced yet further details to be announced nearer the time. Any new players experienced or new to the game are welcome to come down and join in. We are aiming to run two squads, an experienced team and a development team for new arrivals and players still learning the basics.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the Minis please contact any of the coaches or people below. The amount can be as little as £5 upwards. The money goes into a pot to buy equipment such as balls, tag belts, tackle shields, training shirts, coaching tops, marker cones and poles.
