Under 16's Information

This age group is for children in the school years 11 age group starting on 1st September, i.e. boys aged 15 at the 1st of September 2011.

When do the squad train
The squad train on a Friday evening 6:30pm - 8:00 and on some Sundays 10:00am - Noon if they have no games arranged. They started pre season training on 15th July.
TrRaining is at Hollas Lane for time being until the Copley pitches are ready for use.

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Sunday Mornings 10:00 - Noon.

How do I join
If you are interested in playing junior rugby come down to Copley on any training session or match day. Any new players experienced or new to the game are welcome to join in.

2011 - 12 Season - Under 16's

The squad will play their first full season of rugby after forming the u15's in February. The squad has some great potential and its a case of getting to grips with retaining possession at the ruck and maul and feeding their exciting back line. They are playing "catch up" against clubs who have been together for a number of seasons. We are confident they will improve with each game this season.

Pe season training starts 15th July and the main change is the introduction of lifting in the line outs. THe squad will also enter the Yorkshire Cup this season for the first time with the 1st round coming early n the season on 9th October. We welcome any new players to join the squad just come down to a training session or on a Sunday morning in the playing season.

After another lay off due to the weather the u16s are at home for visit of Yarnbury. Not too sure of their stength but they tend to produce good sides. However it may be a close game with a ring rusty teams.

Anyone interested in sponsoring the Minis and Juniors please contact any of the coaches or people below. The amount can be as little as £5 upwards. The money goes into a pot to buy equipment such as balls, tag belts, tackle shields, training shirts, coaching tops, marker cones and poles. The list is endless there is always new equipment to buy or replace worn out equipment.
