YRA: Driving Rugby Forward

Being part of the Young Rugby Ambassador programme gives you the opportunity to gain recognition for your involvement in supporting rugby – there are countless ways to get involved, and valuable benefits including learning professional skills and stash.

Who can be a YRA?

Anybody aged 14-25 and wants to support rugby in their local area. This can be at your club, school, college, university or within your community - wherever you feel you can contribute. You can be with a group of mates or just on your own supported by your club, tutor, teacher or committee.

You can decide how often and for how long you help out. It could be refereeing a match once a week or helping out at an event once a year. There’s a huge variety of ways to support rugby in your area, from managing a club’s social media to coaching minis and juniors.

Here are some the ways you can get involved on and off the pitch:
•Ambassador roles
•Refereeing
•Coaching
•Events organising
•Social Media

How it works?

The YRA programme is in partnership with vInspired, who provide the tool to keep track of your hours. The more hours you give, the more we give back to you. The milestones you will receive rewards for are: 10, 30, 50 and 100 hours. You will receive certificates and exclusive YRA stash.
10 hours: Certificate, YRA t-shirt
30 hours: Certificate, recognition from an England Rugby representative, YRA bobble hat
50 hours: Certificate, YRA hoody
100 hours: Certificate, YRA jacket

This guidance will help you with what sort of evidence we are looking for at each award. Make sure you let us know what you have done, where you are volunteering, who the main contact is, and your kit size.
Please note, the girls’ sizes are quite small.

How to get involved?

You will need to register to join the YRA programme so you can track your hours, we can keep in touch and send you your rewards. Start by registering with englandrugby.com, you will then be redirected to the opportunity page on vInspired to complete your registration. Once you have completed your registration you will receive a confirmation email containing next steps and how to get in touch.
