Under 14's Information

Welcome to the under 14's page. This age group is for children in the school year 9 age group starting on 1st September, i.e. boys aged 13 at the 1st of September 2010.

When do the squad train
The squad are training on Wednesday evenings 7:00-8:00pm

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Sunday Mornings 10:00 - Noon.

How do I join
We have a squad of 18 players but need a few more players to cover for injuries and players unavailable. We are aiming for a squad of 20-22 players so if you are interested in playing junior rugby come down to Copley on any training session or match day or contact Dave Butler.

Next Games Sunday 17th April

Home to Roundhegians KO 11:00am

After last Sunday's close defeat the squad are smarting after letting Barnsley in for a late try and will want to make amends with a win. So its a home match against Rounghegians who they had a convincimg win over back in February. However its the start of the Easter school break so much depends on who is available. Roundhegians may alsoo be struggling for players so its difficult to forecast how the game will go. Providing most of the key players are around they should be able to pull off a win.

Review of 2009 - 10 Season - Under 13's

This season the under 13's will have a big pre season recruitment drive to build the squad. The squad now play 15 a side junior rugby on a full pitch with 8 forwards and 7 backs. This will be a big step up for the squad but we hope to attract the players. We have 2 new coaches to help Andy Day, they are Andrew Brian and John Hopkinson.

Any new players who would like to play under 13 rugby are very welcome to come down to Copley on Friday evenings pre season or during the season on Sunday mornings when they are training or have home games.

Review of 2008 - 09 Season - Under 12's

The under 12's ended the season with a squad of 10 players but we still require more players to join this development squad. They played 13 a side midi rugby with 6 forwards and and 7 backs on a half size pitch. With only 10 players the squad were unable to run a full team so had to merge with the under 11's to field a side. We are trying to recruit more players so we have a large enough squad to field a full team each week. We are still looking for 1 or 2 volunteers to help Andy Day with the coaching. During the season we recruited several new members and as the season progressed the squad recorded a few victories.

Victoies were hard to come by but there were good displays away at Wharfedale and Cleckheaton and at home to Baildon and Skipton. Perhaps the most pleasing result was the last game of the season against Keighley. Back in January they lost 0-35 but turned the table with a 7-5 victory. Considering they playing games against u12 sides they have performed well.

Review of 2007 - 08 Season - Under 11's

The under 11's section again only had a small squad of players and struggled raise a full side on a number of occasions and often merged with the under 10's to play a mixed under 10's/11's game.

Review of 2006 - 07 Season - Under 10's

The following new players have joined the under 10's during the season.
Daniel Rushworth, Yanneck Kasmierski, Josef Cotterill, Cameron Stortt, Tom Hammond, Oliver Machon.

The under 10's section again only have a small squad of 11 players and also struggled raise a full side on a number of occasions and often merged with the under 9's to play a mixed under 9/10's game. During the close season we will be concentrating on recruiting more players to increase the squad size.

Review of 2005 - 06 Season - Under 9's

The under 9 section has just completed their first season. They started training back in September but did not play any competitive games until after the Christmas break. There is a squad of 10 players but we do require more players to build the squad. The following new players joined the club during the season.
