Dukinfield suffered a shark attack as Rishworthians forwards dominated this game cruising to a ten try romp over the red rose club.
After a four week break due to weather and holidays the Sharks were fired up from the kick off and soon had their first points on the board as Sharks drove upfield to Dukinfield 5m line. From a ruck quick ball Sammy Hopkinson spun away from his marker and scored under the posts. Jacob Chadwick added the extras. From another forward drive the ball was spun down the back line for winger Kian Cade to shrug off several defenders to power over under the posts. Chadwick converted.
Hopkinson scored his second try after another good forward drive and peeling off from a maul to dive over. Sharks made good ground and from a tackle the ball was recycled quickly and spun down the back line for Adil Haider to burst down the wing and score. Chadwick converted. New recruit Dylan Parry scored his first try scooping up a loose ball and sprinting for the line. Chadwick converted.
Just before the break George Casson rumbled over from a forward drive then Sharks took their foot off the gas to let Dukinfield in for a try. Order was soon restored from a tackle the ball was moved quickly for winger Haider to sprint over for his second try. Chadwick converted to give the Sharks a 45 -5 lead.
Dukinfield started the second half well and dominated play for a while but when they lost the ball Sharks were onto any error. A Dukinfield fumble was pounced on by Sharks and after a forward drive the ball was shipped out to winger Kian Cade who brushed aside his marker and sprinted 30 metres for the line. From the restart a break out by the Sharks backs took play to Dukinfield's 22. Sharks forwards used their pick and drive power to pound the Dukinfield line and Matthew Wragg found a gap to power over.
Dukinfield now produced their best spell of the game and scored a well worked converted try.
Sharks last try was a classic team try. From a restart Dukinfield kicked deep but winger Cade collected the ball and ran it back. He was tackled on the 22 but the Sharks were there in support to recycle the ball and drive forward. After several phases of play they spun the ball out to the opposite wing for Haider to cross for his first hat trick.
