2nd XV Review
The 2nd XV started the season well with 4 wins and 2 defeats. However the run up to Christmas saw just one win in 7 games as they struggled with injuries and player availability. After Christmas only one win was recorded against Skipton and seven games lost due to the weather or no opposition. Next season the squad should be boosted as some juniors reach their 17th birthday with some good prospects keen to play senior rugby.

1st XV Review
1st XV captain Gary Morris gave a review of the season. It has been a fantastic season and one of the best seasons in the clubs history wining back to back championships for the first time. Division 3 will be a big challenge for the squad but they are up for it. With the league restructure it is still unclear who will with us be in Division 3.
The season started with a tough pre season warm up but wins against Southport and Halifax Vikings and a narrow defeat at the hands of division 3 Goole gave the squad a satifactory start. We then stuttered to a 19 - 17 win in the junior Vase at Pontefract Pythons but that gave us the wake up call ready for league action. Wins against Hornsea, Rotherham York RI conceding only 1 try gave us a great start. However a close defeat at Vandals brought us down to earth but we to go on an 8 match winning run. During that run we progessed to the 5th round of the junior Vase and lost 20 - 21 to Goole. It was the furthest we have ever reached in the competition and some argue we could have won it. Five further straight victories in the league saw us looking for just 2 more wins to claim the championship but below par performances against Northallerton and Modernians caused a degree of concern. However victory at home (planned of course!!)to Leeds Corinthians and the championship was ours. Now for a tilt at the Silver Trophy.
