Morley Festival 2005 Under 14's Win the Morley Festival In a keenly competitive rugby festival the Rishies triumphed with a fine demonstration of consistently strong forward play and powerful running by the backs. Each game was played over two twelve minute halves. The first game involving the Copley lads was against a well-fancied Moortown side. It proved to be the most difficult match of the day the result being a tight 5 – 5 draw with Chris Dyson scoring first for the Rishies. The second game was against a disappointing Yarnbury side and the Rishies triumphed 35 - 0 with tries from Eddie Cockcroft, Ben Porritt (3), Sam Hoyland (2) and Luke Flanagan. The host team provided the next opposition and the Rishies really turned on the style by overwhelming Morley 65 - 0 with a well deserved debut try from Robbie Kitchen, 6 tries from Chris Dyson, Cockroft (2), Porritt (2) and Sam Hoyland (2). The final game was the eagerly awaited clash against archrivals Old Brods. Again the Copley lads were totally dominant in all aspects of the game and due to some desperate defending from the Hipperholme side, the final winning score was restricted to 20 - 0 with tries from Porritt and a hat trick from the irrepressible Chris Dyson.
