Old Rishworthians 2ndXV team compete in the Yorkshire West Aire/Wharfe Merit League 2. As one of 12 clubs we have set our sights high this season with ambitions of promotion this season. Having developed one of the most successful junior sections in Yorkshire in recent years we are now seeing a wealth of young talent feeding into the senior game. So, whether your an old head that would like to contribute in a player/coach capacity or a teenager ready to play his first open age game please contact us on one of the numbers below or turn up to our training sessions on a Tuesday and Thursday evening - ALL ARE WELCOME!"

When do the squad train
Tuesdays and Thursday evenings 7:00pm - 8:30pm

When do the squad play matches
During the playing season September - April matches are on Saturday Afternoons.

How do I join
If you are interested in playing come down to Copley on any training session or match day.
We are looking for new players to join the club. Anyone interested in playing rugby either socialy or wish to develop further and push for the 1st XV squad just come down on a training night or a Saturday afternoon during the season.

2011 - 2012 Season *** New League Structure ***

This season the 2ndXV will be playing competitive league rugby in the new West/Aire/Wharfe league 2. The old style merit tables have been scrapped and replaced with a structured league system wth promotion and relegation.

The new Yorkshire merit league has a 5 tier structure with a county wide top tier: The Premiership and a second tier: The Championship. The 3rd to 5th tiers are split into districts to help reduce travelling costs.

Rishworthians 2ndXV will be in the 4th tier the West Aire and Wharfe league 2 with the following teams.
Airebrough 2, Bradford & Bingley 3, Bradford Salem 3, Baildon 3, Halifax Dukes, Halifax Vandals 2, Heath 3, Huddersfield YMCA 3, O Otliensians 2, Ossett 2 and Otley 3.
There will be promotion with the top 2 clubs going up into West Aire and Wharfe league 1.

4 points shall be awarded for a win, 2 points for a draw and no points for a loss. A bonus point will be awarded for scoring four or more tries by either side and a losing bonus point where a team loses by seven points or less. In Merit Table games the average calculation will be used by adding the total number of points accumulated and dividing by the number of games played.
